I’ve been quiet for a while. What have I been up to? Well, my partner bought a house and since he has a disability that makes lifting and carrying difficult most of the time, I took over the majority of the packing and moving. Since we only moved 3 miles down the road, I did it a little at a time every day after work. It was exhausting, but we made it in just under the final move-out deadline! We are now happily in a larger space where we both have a private office for our remote jobs. (He works for the government and I work for a hospital, so privacy was of the utmost importance.)
All that moving took time away from my writing and the deadline was fast approaching. In order to publish in time to have physical copies for my upcoming events, I had a hard deadline. All energy was thrown into that, full speed, no time for anything else. It was stressful as hell and I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to make it. But, despite a last-minute formatting error that was quickly rectified, I MADE IT!! GRYMVEIL TALES IS PUBLISHED!!
The joy and excitement I feel at finally seeing my book baby out there is immense. I by no means expect record sales, but for me this journey hasn’t been about sales. All of this has been about dedication to my craft, adhering to my creative vision, and developing the best mini collection I possibly could. I feel satisfied I have attained those goals with this release.
This is not a large collection–8 tales total–but it is a fabulous introduction to the Grymveil Universe, my writing style, and a key character who will be the protagonist of my upcoming series. And this will not be my only short story collection. As the universe grows, there will be more tales, more faerie shenanigans, and more mythical mishaps. The fun is just starting.
So please, join me in celebrating the release of my first collection and feel free to give it a look through this link here. And, of course, Stay Magical!
